Do I have to have a Paypal account to shop with Chromatic Alchemy?

No. Paypal is one of our payment processors, however, when you reach the Paypal sign in screen you can click the “Checkout As A Guest” or “Don’t Have A Paypal Account” tab and it will prompt you to put in your credit card/debit card information without having to sign in or have an account. You will still be covered by Paypals’ buyers protection scheme. We now also accept credit and debit cards with our SSL secured payment gateway Stripe.

How do I request custom orders?

Just contact us via the website or the Facebook group and we will try and work with you to figure out what your needs are. Any new custom work is not charged for until a concept is agreed, test dyes have been carried out and you are happy with the results. We also reserve the right to release any custom work/colours for general sale. Please note that custom pieces can take time to process as they are slotted in and worked on at less busy times of the week.

Can I wash Chromatic Alchemy products?

While every attempt is made to ensure that all loose dye has been rinsed out of our products, please do not assume that they are completely colourfast.

If you are planning on washing your finished piece then please prewash your fabrics to test for colour fastness.

Always wash in cold or lukewarm water using a mild detergent, rinse thoroughly in cold water and then hang them out to dry. You will see if the fabric bleeds as the washing water will be tinted with dye. If necessary repeat the washing process.

When washing your finished piece follow the instructions above and either iron dry, or roll your piece up between two towels to remove excess water and then leave it to dry flat. Should you see colours starting to bleed while washing then switch to cold water and rinse repeatedly to remove any bleeding.

How long is the processing time?

This is dependant on workload and personal circumstances. Sam the owner of Chromatic Alchemy is a sole trader and therefore it can sometimes take time to process orders, there will usually be some indication of current waiting times in the welcome text located on the home page.
